Eric Say's profile

Sochi Winter Olympics

The XXII Olympic Winter Games

My primary responsibility while working on the Sochi Olympics graphics package was creating studio graphics for NBC's prime-time studio show, as well as their 24-hour studio coverage of the games. In addition, I was responsible for creating the transition package, cloth simulation, 3D environments, and various other animations.  Working on-site in Sochi, Russia, I developed and implemented a highly versatile and adaptive studio graphics kit. This kit covered all aspects of the show, from opening sequences, environmental lighting effects, information graphics and bumpers.

Working on the Sochi Olympic studio package was one of the best experiences of my life. The team, lead by David Barton, created one of the most beautiful, elegant, and dynamic graphics packages ever broadcasted.

The graphics package for The XXII Olympic Winter Games won the 2015 Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Graphic Design.

The Set Design won a 2014 PromaxBDA Gold - Set Design
